High Whitch was purchased from Burchill Quarter Horses in Valley City, North Dakota in May 2009. His disposition is exceptional and he has the conformation, bone, muscle, and size that many cutting and cow bred horses now lack. With a flawless pedigree to highlight his cause as a breeding stallion, High Whitch has been producing athletic, big-hipped, intelligent colts since 2004.
High Whitch is an own son of High Brow Hickory and by a producing daughter of the legendary Bob Acre Doc. Originally bred and raised by Jim Whitcher of Scenic, South Dakota, High Whitch is the product of a carefully executed breeding operation.
High Brow Hickory was the 1986 Reserve Open Futurity Champion at the NCHA Futurity in Ft. Worth, Texas and was the 1987 AQHA High Point Performance Horse with $222,959 in lifetime earnings. He has sired approximately $5 million worth of performers and is currently the #1 leading grandsire of cutting horses. His most noteworthy son is the incredible High Brow Cat, who has produced earners of more than $37 million.
High Whitch’s dam was an NCHA money earner and has produced over $20,000 in earners. She is an own daughter of Bob Acre Doc and by a daughter of Son Ofa Doc, who is also the sire to Bob Acre Doc. Bob Acre Doc had lifetime earnings of $426,136 and has produced approximately $10 million. He was a two-time NCHA World Champion and was inducted into the NCHA Hall of Fame.
With a pedigree boasting more than $45 million worth of producers, essential size and bone, powerful hip, and an impeccable disposition, High Whitch has the tools needed to produce extraordinary athletes capable of excelling in cutting, working cowhorse events, arena events, and as incredible ranch mounts.
